Hoi An Museum of History and Culture – 4 mins

Established in 1989, the museum displays 212 original artifacts and valuable documents in ceramics, porcelain, bronze, paper, wood, etc., reflecting the development stages of Hoi An’s urban and commercial port in Hoi An from the period of Sa Huynh culture (from the 2nd century AD) to the period of Cham culture (from the 2nd century to the 15th century) and the Dai Viet and Dai Nam culture (from the 15th to the 19th century).

The Champa period was the successful development of the Hoi An trading port. The Hoi An Museum of History and Culture now also displays many artifacts associated with Champa culture, including ceramic pieces and Cham bricks decorated with delicate patterns. In addition, this place also keeps a lot of documents about the trade of Hoi An Ancient Town.

Each artifact at the museum has different meanings and stories. Visitors coming here will feel the creativity and talent of local people. From prehistoric times, they knew how to make tools for productive labor. Until there was cultural interference, they created products that required higher technology, such as ceramics, jewelry, balances, etc.

A Museum of History – Culture in Hoi An is the convergence of typical cultural features of Hoi An ancient town through each development period. All have created vivid and colorful artistic pictures. The museum has contributed significantly to the development and cultural interference between Vietnam and neighboring countries.
